Written by Plexus Radio on 3 December, 2018
Only a couple of miles from Belo Horizonte, a Brazilian city where Sepultura was born, a new heavy metal band takes his place. With a name Ayra, known as a Tupi Indian Brazilian culture, the five musicians play songs known as a NWOBHM (New Wave of British Heavy Metal). Because of it, Iron Maiden, Saxon and Angel Witch are some of multi-famous bands that have being influencing Ayra.
Since 2006, the band have been playing in Brazil their songs. Some of it was lunched in its first EP album, in 2007, called “Lies and Truth”, what received nice reviews in Magazine such as the well-known Roadie Crew. Back to 2010, Ayra was the opening band for Almah concert and, in the year of 2012, for the Zak Stevens.
The currently crew of Ayra is Ed Souza (vocal), Julio Di Buccio (bass/backing vocals), Lean Lee (lead guitars), Mario Lucas (Drums) and Nanjohn Rodrigues (lead guitars). They are now with a working in progress to release its full-length album under Alan Wallace and André Márcio production, both from Eminence band.
The single “Lord of Dreams” was officially released on YouTube and Spotify, which had nice feedbacks. Paulo Ariente, fan of Ayra, told on Facebook that it “already go to my playlist of heavy metal songs”. These comments seams to bring more confidence to Ayra, that expect have their songs played around the globe. “We truly believe in our work and we’re looking forward to show what we can do with our songs around the world”, says Lean Lee exclusively to Plexus Radio.
Thefore, Ayra may be a band that show what Brazilians can do when the subject is heavy metal. Definitively you must know Ayra.
