Madison Avenues Music Continues To Command Clubland 20 Years On

As they often say, a sleeping giant once awoken will move the world. Taking this analogy and twisting to align with the music industry you’d be fast looking for a reference to support the phrase. Enter Madison Avenue’s undeniable hit record from 20 years ago now being shaken up by the likes of current clubland connoisseur Patrick Topping and a mix of cutting edge producers.

We all love to dance. Fact. So when an anthem of epic proportion returns to the fold with a new round of remixes its instantly prepped to reignite dance floors and is akin to watching a volcano erupt once the recognisable yet reworked hook weaves its sultry way through the speakers.

“You and me, we have an opportunity
And we could make it something really cool
But you, you think I’m not that kind of girl
I’m here to tell you, baby, I know how to rock your world

Don’t think that I’m not strong
I’m the one to take you on
Don’t underestimate me, boy
I’ll make you sorry you were born
You don’t know me
The way you really should
You sure misunderstood
Don’t call me baby”

The resounding vocal speaks volumes, immediately connecting crowds with the chart worthy NO.1 dance anthem. Already taking top position on it’s 20th Anniversary release with Mousse T. and Super Disco Club (original band member, Andy Van) remixes in 2019, this time round we’re treated to an epic and even edgier package courtesy of UK’s Patrick Topping and underground export Spencer Parker. Expect dominant beats and a prominent acid line to ascend the track sky high, the recent Topping led remixes has already reported worldwide support from all the leading DJ’s, radio shows and resident players.

The original song cemented a place in music history selling over 1 million copies and topping charts across the world. In the recent incarnation it’s encouraging to see Patrick Topping the ‘Best Of British’ award winner relinquishing his royalties to support the recent Australian bushfire appeals and further recognising the devastation caused across the country where the classic record was first recorded. BBC Radio 1 first broke the latest remix package and have continued to playlist the track throughout many of their shows receiving props from MistaJam, Annie Nightingale and Danny Howard. We expect to see this solid vocal house number reaching well into 2020 as the summer season prepares us for a heavy schedule of club defining moments and music ahead.
