The Spanish armed forces has this evening moved several Pizarro fighting tanks within Catalonia. A military caravan was seen on the A-2 double carriageway at Bellvís, close Lleida on the western outskirt of the autonomous community , heading towards the inside of Catalonia.
This could be connected with developments the Spanish armed force has had planned since March, part of a redesign of the Sant Climent Sescebes army installation which incorporates the arrival of around 50 Pizarro vehicles. The likelihood has not been reduced that the convoy was from the Vall d’Aran in the Pyrenees where military moves have been occurring lately.
Regardless, the development approaches the first October, on which day the Catalan government has called an independence referendum even with Spanish government restriction. The armed force joins the earlier nearness of the Civil Guard and Spanish National Police in Catalonia.
